Guinness Storehouse Project

“My dad moved here from Turkey and has been running a carpet shop on Francis Street for nearly 40 years. He’s been an integral part of the street for as long as I can remember. Growing up in the Liberties, I’ve always felt a deep connection to this street and could not imagine a better place to open my café. People often say that the Liberties is a city within Dublin city, which I think is absolutely correct; people are more caring around here. There are a set of characters and businesses that make this community special and I am lucky to be part of it. The Liberties has always been welcoming and multicultural, but the Storehouse provides a lot of the special colour to this part of Dublin, with tourists coming from all over the world to enjoy discovering the Liberties. Because this is a small community, the visitors brighten up the streets and make it livelier, creating a very unique vibe.”
