Guinness Storehouse Series

“I will never forget when Guinness first opened the baths; it was such a big deal! My mother and her nanny worked at Guinness, and because we had family working there, we received passes with our names on them. We were so proud; having one of those cards was very posh back then. Life was very different; the locals were extremely poor with many mouths to feed. I come from a family of eight children, and I remember many buildings didn’t have showers or hot water, and some still had communal kitchens and toilets. Our home had one sink for all 10 of us. Those cards were like VIP tickets. We went for a swim and a shower every day.”
